Just like Pinocchio

Finn loves the show Super Why and it is available on instant watch through Netflix, so he watches those episodes over and over. I figure that if he is going to watch TV, I'm glad it is a show like this. They focus on letter recognition and solving problems (that episode's moral lesson). I completely credit this show for Finn's amazing ability to recognize letters, but I thought the rest of the show was a little over his head.

However, this morning, I asked him if he had pooped in his diaper (because he was stinky) and he told me, "yes." So we got a diaper and wipes to change him, but when I checked, he had just tooted. I said, "Finn, you told mommy a lie. You did not poop. You need to tell the truth." To which he answered, "Just like Pinocchio." One of the Super Why episodes is Pinocchio and they obviously talk about lying. I was shocked that he had understood the message and had the ability to apply it to real life. Now I feel even better when he watches that show! He continues to amaze me with his memory and comprehension. What a smart little man :)
