Nearly half a million babies (1 in 10) are born premature in the US each year which is higher than that of most other developed nations. This is the journeys of our first born son, Finnegan, who was born 14 weeks early and weighed only 1 pound 15 ounces at birth. Of our daugher, Korrigan, who was born a healthy 7 pounds, 7 ounces at 37 weeks. And of our second son, MacKeegan, who was also born at 37 weeks at a whopping 8 pounds, 13 ounces. Our continued adventures reminds us daily how good God is.

He was VERY thoughtful in this answers this year. I felt like he understood them much better this year than last. He also had a hard time just picking one for each answer. Don’t limit me! LOL My thoughts on some of his answers.

4. I don't think he actually watches Ryan's much any more. Also, I'm not sure these were the movies he meant but he kept saying "The dolphin movie!" so I asked if he meant these and Finn confirmed.
5. Proud mom moment. Oh, well.
6. Andrea made him a custom shirt that says, "Caution: I'm a handful" because he's five! Get it?! He wanted it to be "orang-ish maroon!" and LOVES it!
8. He wanted me to add "spicy Cheetos" which I think is his actually his favorite!
11. He has really gotten into books lately, so I think there are several he could have picked, but I agree this one is a recurring favorite. Although he calls it Llama Llama and the Meanie Goat instead of Bully Goat!!! LOL
16. Is anybody actually surprised by this?!?!
17. Rexie is a stuffed T-Rex he got from Auntie Becca last year and Bunny is a personalized stuffed bunny with big floppy ear he got from Stacey. The ear is coming off, so he doesn't actively sleep with it any more for fear of it actually coming off.
18. What?!?! I don't think he's actually ever had chips or pie, but whatever. Oatmeal and eggs are probably his most common.
19. Again, with anything that Jim could make...seriously?!?! But it is probably honest.
22. For the record, his ride is only about 20 minutes!!

Mac truly is a handful, but in the best possible way. He is funny and engaging and charming. He is also stubborn, opinionated and has a hard time controlling himself, especially with hitting or kicking, but he is working hard on this. He loves everything his big brother likes or does but if Finn is busy or gone, he WILL play Barbies or dolls with Korri. He is LOUD, I mean, like he has one volume and it is always at 100%.

The last picture before he turns five (he as born at 11pm and we stayed at a hotel ON his birthday for his birthday present):

Even though he is the big 5 now, he still loves his momma and will give limitless kisses and snuggles...as long as it's on his terms! I told him he has to snuggle with me until he has babies that I can snuggle with!! Ha, he may not like that when he's in college ;) Oh, and he LOVES to dance and man, can he feel the beat (video from our Block party this weekend)!

I'm really looking forward to this next year. He'll be in Pre-School three afternoons a week and I really want to soak in this last year with him. He feels hard. He enjoys life hard. He loves hard. Never lose that spark for life, Little Buddy!! Love so you much.

He's a handful

Tuesday morning, Mac had his 5 year pictures taken by the amazing Renee. She has now taken his pictures SIX times and yet again, she didn't disappoint. She got them back to me last night (yes, ONE day later!), but I had to figure out how to download them to my computer! LOL

I wasn't nearly as nervous this year as I was last year. Mac does this thing when we are at a store, where he copies the poses of the "robots" (to everybody else they are called mannequins!). So before we left, I told him that he could do his "robot poses" but no matter what, he had to listen to the directions Renee told him. It helps that she is AMAZING with kids and just roles with the punches (like the fact that Mac squints like crazy if there is ANY sunlight present which makes outdoor pictures TOUGH).

The one time he wouldn't listen, he wanted to take a latter outside to sit on but he's already used it so Renee wanted him to pick a chair. But he didn't like any of the chairs we pointed to. Finally, I said that Mac should pick the white one...but wait, that is for big kids only. And Renee piped in right away with: Right, I think only 6 year olds can sit on it. Boom! Guess which chair Mac wanted to sit in!?! I love it when you can actually still manipulate your child :)

I may be biased, but it helps that he is adorable, has eyes for days and looks cute doing just about anything! Anyway, enough, right? Let's get to it.

That is your one sneak peek! See the tie in to the post title? If you want to see all of them, click on the picture or copy and paste: https://photos.app.goo.gl/BZgmBm6pAiVWAFPb8.

Renee really does a great job! If anybody is in need of a great photographer, check out her website at www.reneefromdassel.com or her facebook page at www.facebook.com/reneefromdassel. I said it last year but this year is actually my last picture session with one of my kiddos, well until Senior Pictures! Once they start school, I use their school pictures! I'm really sad. Although, we'll keep doing family and sibling pictures periodically, so it's not goodbye, it's until later.
