Korri had her 6 month well child appt on Tuesday (thanks, Erica, for watching Finn!) and the appointment went well! Yay. She weighs 14 lbs, 10 oz (which is the SIXTEENTH percentile!) and is 25 1/3" long (which is the TWENTY-THIRD percentile!). She is doing great. I am most amazed at her length. She has grown three inches in two months! At her four month check, her weight was 7th percentile and her height was 1st percentile, so I'll take these great improvements. She got four vaccines, one oral and three shots, and she was a trooper. She cried at the second shot and calmed down once mommy could pick her up. However, she was a BEAR the rest of the night, so I'm sure her legs were hurting her (there was a hard knot in her left thigh yesterday...boo). Here you can see some of her little band-aids (and she is of course, blowing bubbles, something she does ALL the time now and I think is the cutest thing ever):
The doctor was a little concerned about her skin. She just has such darn sensitive skin! The dr said to use hydro cortizone ointment instead of cream, so I picked some up. Also, I'm supposed to put it on up to three times per day on the really bad spots. I'm not good at remembering that often, but I've been doing twice a day! The doctor was very impressed with Korri's fine motor skills (she kept commenting on it) and said that she is pretty much right on track for her sitting (she can sit for about 2 seconds before falling over). Unless we have concerns before then, we don't have to go back in until her regularly scheduled 9 month well child appt! Yay.
Not related to her appt, I think Korri is saying, "mama!" It sounds like, "A-ma!" but she's done it several times this past week and yesterday when auntie Kristine was over, Kristine would pick her up and she would look at me and say it! Might be wishful thinking, but it sure seemed to have purpose behind it. She is rolling from tummy to back pretty much every time she takes a nap or sleeps, which is a little annoying because she still hasn't rolled from back to tummy and she can't sleep on her back!
As I mentioned, Kristine and Zander came over yesterday. He is getting so big...but in reality, he is still so small! Finn/Korri have the same carseat as Zander. The top one is Zander in his carseat and the middle one is Finn in his carseat the day he came home from the hospital and the bottom one is Korri the day she came home.
I just thought it would be fun to compare (you can tell Zander was born in the summer and my kids were in the winter!). Zander is a little bigger in this picture than Finn was, but not by much and even though it is hard to compare because of the blanket, Korri is clearly bigger than both! I should get a picture from Kristine of Zander in the car seat when he came home from the hospital. Oh and the outfit Zander had on was one of Finn's...seems like just yesterday! I'm so glad I get to see his outfits used again. They bring back such good memories (before Finn could say "no" and throw fits...haha!).

Nearly half a million babies (1 in 10) are born premature in the US each year which is higher than that of most other developed nations. This is the journeys of our first born son, Finnegan, who was born 14 weeks early and weighed only 1 pound 15 ounces at birth. Of our daugher, Korrigan, who was born a healthy 7 pounds, 7 ounces at 37 weeks. And of our second son, MacKeegan, who was also born at 37 weeks at a whopping 8 pounds, 13 ounces. Our continued adventures reminds us daily how good God is.
