Nearly half a million babies (1 in 10) are born premature in the US each year which is higher than that of most other developed nations. This is the journeys of our first born son, Finnegan, who was born 14 weeks early and weighed only 1 pound 15 ounces at birth. Of our daugher, Korrigan, who was born a healthy 7 pounds, 7 ounces at 37 weeks. And of our second son, MacKeegan, who was also born at 37 weeks at a whopping 8 pounds, 13 ounces. Our continued adventures reminds us daily how good God is.

New favorite "toy"

Finn has a new favorite toy......his curtains next to his changing table! I kid you not. He loves these things. Whenever we lay him down to change him, he reaches over, grabs them and pulls on them and swings them around; the whole time talking to and smiling at them. He loves it. Weird...but as long as they stay attached to the wall, I'm fine with it!

After a night of no sleep for all three of us (Jim moved to the guest room to sleep only to wake Finn up with his coughing, so then we switched and I slept in the guest room...ugh!), Jim finally went to Urgent Care today. He has bronchitis, which is kind of what we thought (I'm just glad it isn't the H1N1 flu!). They gave him an antibiotic and said to keep doing what he has been doing (which is Mucinex, NyQuil, Ibuprofen and cough drops). Hopefully he will start to feel better soon and more importantly stop hacking his lungs out!

Hey there! Too funny about the curtains - it's amazing the things that entertain them.

Oh, don't even worry that he's not sitting by himself yet. Jaleah can't sit for very long by herself still - she loves crawling around too much to sit still, so we are still working on that. Plus, Finn is just 5.5 months corrected and a lot of "normal" full term babies don't even start sitting til around 6 months. Jaleah was really behind 2 months ago - she wouldn't even roll over or tolerate tummy time for more than 1 minute. and then all of a sudden she just took off! It will happen! :)

Hope Jim feels better soon!!!

Thanks, Rebecca. I'm glad to know that one day he might just "take off!" I worry too much, but it is good to hear other stories to keep the worrying to a minimum!

Yep, join the world of bronchitis! Such a vague term....good luck with getting better, Jim.

And Finn...how fun for the new toy! I bet you get a kick out of peek-a-boo these days too! Can't wait to see you again someday soon!!!

Want to hit up the children's museum or something this week or next week? Maybe a day you have Austin too?

Katie, We can't wait to see you guys, too! Unfortunately, we are on lock down for Finn since it is flu/RSV season which means he can not go out in public (other than to houses of people we know are not sick!). It really sucks because both Austin and I would LOVE to go to the Children's Museum. I can't wait until his adjusted one year birthday!
