Nearly half a million babies (1 in 10) are born premature in the US each year which is higher than that of most other developed nations. This is the journeys of our first born son, Finnegan, who was born 14 weeks early and weighed only 1 pound 15 ounces at birth. Of our daugher, Korrigan, who was born a healthy 7 pounds, 7 ounces at 37 weeks. And of our second son, MacKeegan, who was also born at 37 weeks at a whopping 8 pounds, 13 ounces. Our continued adventures reminds us daily how good God is.

Leaps and bounds

Man, where do I start? This is the problem with being lazy and not updating it for so long! Korri is growing and developing by leaps and bounds. She has mastered sitting, crawling, and getting up and down from sitting. She started crawling Sunday, 10/9. It was the first day that she coordinated her hands and knees in a crawling gesture, but she wasn't confident yet and continued to rock back and forth and then lurch herself forward most of the time. Then, that Friday, we got to Ortonville, I set her down and off she went...and she hasn't stopped since! So this is what it's like to have a normal, get-into-everything, "I don't have to listen" baby!

She LOVES her big brother and watches him constantly. She always wants to "play" with him, but she just seems to get in his way. Although, lately, I feel like he is more interested in her and is starting to interact with her more. She also LOVES cords and paper and putting everything in her mouth. These are all things we did not have to worry about with Finn, so it is like being first time parents. It truly is amazing how different two kids can be when they have the same parents and the same environment.

Finn is growing like crazy...I think! I won't know for sure until his 3 year well child appt in January, but he has stayed within plus or minus a pound of 30 pounds for almost a year, I think, and has grown around FIVE inches! No more chubby little boy :( In fact, his 24 month pants are now too big for him in the waist because he has lost most of his buddha belly, but the 18 months are (thankfully!!) too short.

I'm sure there is a ton more that I'm forgetting right now, but at least I did a post!
