Yesterday, Auntie Kristine stopped by for a quick visit, which Finn loved. He was kind of crabby and ready for a nap, so the distraction was much needed. And of course, he "conned" her into reading "Babar" to him.
After auntie left and Finn took his nap, the three of us were "playing" walking and Finn hit ANOTHER milestone...he stood up in the middle of the room unassisted!!! This is huge for balance and another "step" closer to independent walking. I just about died when he did it. Here is a short clip (longer version on the video website!):
Then in the evening, Sam, Stacey and Dillon came over for a family night in. It was a great, relaxing evening. Jim made focaccia bread with goat cheese (my fav!) and steak (and even shoveled out the grill!) and Stacey made mashed potatoes with bacon and brussel sprouts (SO YUMMY!). Finn LOVED playing with Dillon and had to show off his new found talent for standing and walking to our guests. We all tuckered out around 10:30, but when they were leaving, I think Dillon was the most wide awake of all of us! Probably didn't help that Jim was riling him up pretty good ;)
Nearly half a million babies (1 in 10) are born premature in the US each year which is higher than that of most other developed nations. This is the journeys of our first born son, Finnegan, who was born 14 weeks early and weighed only 1 pound 15 ounces at birth. Of our daugher, Korrigan, who was born a healthy 7 pounds, 7 ounces at 37 weeks. And of our second son, MacKeegan, who was also born at 37 weeks at a whopping 8 pounds, 13 ounces. Our continued adventures reminds us daily how good God is.
