After an extensive and frustrating search, we FINALLY found the one and only (that we could find anyway!) zero-degree entry pool at the resort! I think that makes us 1 for 6 (or so). Maybe not the fountain of youth, but I felt like it was even better! We went there today and Finn loved it...other than when he tried to follow daddy to the deeper part and just kept crawling until he couldn't touch any more and went under! It was kind of funny, only because I was right behind him. If we come back to this resort, I will definitely request to be by this pool. There is another bigger pool with a recreation center, bar, food court, kiddie pool and hot tub just next to this kiddie pool. The location would be perfect.
Yesterday we went to an outlet mall near our resort, that we've been to before and really liked. Jim got Finn a small basketball...so he can start learning how to palm it (seriously!). We found a "big brother" shirt for Finn which I just had to get. Jim finally found some reasonably priced sunglasses. Overall, a fun familiy outing and Finn was great even though it was pretty hot and we stayed far longer than I anticipated (he slept for almost 3 hours when we got home!). We decided not to go to the beach today. I really wanted to check out the above mentioned pool and Jim wasn't feeling 100%, so I figured staying close to home was best. Oh, well. Beaches are much harder to clean up from after visiting than a pool anyway (sand gets EVERYWHERE!). Maybe next time.
We are headed home tomorrow morning (our flight leaves at 12:45 EST, I think). Sad to be leaving, but happy to get home. What a wonderfully relaxing week, and I didn't even miss not having a book to read! I did a few sudoku puzzles when I had some down time, but that was about it. Vacationing with a kid is a lot different than vacationing as a couple, that's for sure!
Nearly half a million babies (1 in 10) are born premature in the US each year which is higher than that of most other developed nations. This is the journeys of our first born son, Finnegan, who was born 14 weeks early and weighed only 1 pound 15 ounces at birth. Of our daugher, Korrigan, who was born a healthy 7 pounds, 7 ounces at 37 weeks. And of our second son, MacKeegan, who was also born at 37 weeks at a whopping 8 pounds, 13 ounces. Our continued adventures reminds us daily how good God is.
